It makes your skin plumper to minimize wrinkles, makes you look more rested and energized, and gives you a vibrant glow – not to mention you’ll feel better and stronger during the session. Instead of drinking a ton of water at one time and getting bloated, sip it throughout the day for several days before your session.

Consider Treating Yourself to Professional Beauty Services

It may be a splurge but if you can, I always recommend a mani-pedi and professional hair and makeup services before your maternity photography session. Professionals have a special touch that brings out all your best features (and makes sure your hands are ready for those belly-cradling poses). Plus, it will do wonders for your confidence, and that confidence will infuse your portraits with an extra dose of gorgeous. Why not make a day of it – an afternoon of beauty, your photo session, and then a date night?

Bring Snacks or Other Items for Comfort

You might be surprised by how much your portraits are affected by the way you’re feeling during your session. I want you to feel both confident and comfortable. We can take plenty of breaks during your session, so bring whatever will help you to feel comfortable – snacks, a bottle of water, a portable fan to cool down or a blanket to warm up, your favorite aromatherapy oils, your partner who knows exactly how to make your smile, or whatever else you need.

This is a big one! Remember that you have hired an experienced, knowledgeable photographer who knows how to bring out your best and make pregnant women look fabulous.
